ELK - Global Emission Inventory - Energy-for-Transport Sector, 2019

This dataset contains a global gridded distribution of emissions for the energy sector from combustion activities in oil refineries for transport fuels as monthly and annual means for year 2019 and has been developed by DLR within the project EmissionsLandKarte (ELK). The methodology is based on the best available data for each country, including emission reports in the refinery sector, country-specific emission factors, the IEA Extended Energy Balances, and default emission factors from the EMEP/EEA guidebook 2019. The share of refinery fuels used in the transport sector has been determined with the IEA Extended Energy Balances and trade data from COMTRADE and EUROSTAT. The spatial distribution is based on the refinery lists from EPRTR and globalenergyobservatory.com.
