S-VELD MODIS/SLSTR Surface PM2.5 (Monthly Mean)

This data set contains monthly mean surface PM2.5 concentrations for Germany and parts of the surrounding countries. PM2.5 surface concentrations are derived from Aqua/MODIS and Sentinel-3A/SLSTR AOD data and provided as merged MODIS/SLSTR product. The data is generated by DLR and provided in the framework of the mFUND-Project "S-VELD".


S-VELD S5P Surface NO2 (Daily/Orbit)

This collection contains surface NO2 concentrations for Germany derived from Sentinel-5P/TROPOMI data. The Sentinel-5P NO2 data is generated by DLR and provided in the framework of the mFUND-Project "S-VELD". The surface NO2 data are concentrations with the unit "µg/m3". Sentinel-5P observes Germany on a daily basis.


S-VELD S5P Surface NO2 (Monthly Mean)

This collection contains monthly mean surface NO2 concentrations for Germany derived from Sentinel-5P/TROPOMI data. The Sentinel-5P NO2 data is generated by DLR and provided in the framework of the mFUND-Project "S-VELD".


S-VELD S5P Trop. NO2 Columns (Daily/Orbit)

This product contains daily tropospheric NO2 columns for Germany derived from Sentinel-5P/TROPOMI Level-1B data. The tropospheric NO2 data are vertical column densities with the unit "µmol/m2". Sentinel-5P observes Germany once per day at ~12:00 UTC (the measurement time is included in the netCDF data file).


S-VELD S5P Trop. NO2 Columns (Monthly Mean)

This product contains monthly mean tropospheric NO2 columns for Germany derived from Sentinel-5P/TROPOMI Level-1B data. The tropospheric NO2 data are vertical column densities with the unit "µmol/m2". Sentinel-5P observes Germany once per day at ~12:00 UTC and only cloud-free measurements (cloud fraction < ~0.2) are used.


Sentinel-5P TROPOMI Surface Nitrogendioxide (NO2), Level 4 – Regional

The TROPOMI instrument onboard the Copernicus SENTINEL-5 Precursor satellite is a nadir-viewing, imaging spectrometer that provides global measurements of atmospheric properties and constituents on a daily basis. It is contributing to monitoring air quality and climate, providing critical information to services and decision makers.


Sentinel-5P TROPOMI L3 Daily Composites - Aerosol Index (AI)

Aerosol Index (AI) as derived from TROPOMI observations. AI is an indicator for episodic aerosol plumes from dust outbreaks, volcanic ash, and biomass burning.


Sentinel-5P TROPOMI L3 Daily Composites - Aerosol Layer Height (ALH)

Aerosols are an indicator for episodic aerosol plumes from dust outbreaks, volcanic ash, and biomass burning. Daily observations are binned onto a regular latitude-longitude grid. The Aerosol layer height is provided in kilometres.


Sentinel-5P TROPOMI L3 Daily Composites - Cloud Fraction (CF)

Global Cloud Fraction (CF). Clouds play a crucial role in the Earth's climate system and have significant effects on trace gas retrievals. The radiometric cloud fraction is retrieved from the UV using the OCRA algorithm. Daily observations are binned onto a regular latitude-longitude grid.


Sentinel-5P TROPOMI L3 Daily Composites - Cloud Optical Thickness (COT)

This product displays the Cloud Optical Thickness (COT) around the globe. Clouds play a crucial role in the Earth's climate system and have significant effects on trace gas retrievals. The cloud optical thickness is retrieved from the O2-A band using the ROCINN algorithm.


Sentinel-5P TROPOMI L3 Daily Composites - Cloud-Top Height (CTH)

Global Cloud-Top Height (CTH) as derived from the Sentinel-5P/TROPOMI instrument. Clouds play a crucial role in the Earth's climate system and have significant effects on trace gas retrievals. The cloud-top height is retrieved from the O2-A band using the ROCINN algorithm. Daily observations are binned onto a regular latitude-longitude grid.


Sentinel-5P TROPOMI L3 Daily Composites - Formaldehyde (HCHO)

Formaldehyde (HCHO) concentration (globally) as derived from Sentinel-5P/TROPOMI observations. Major HCHO sources are vegetation, fires, traffic and industrial sources. Daily observations are binned onto a regular latitude-longitude grid.

Ozone vertical column density in Dobson Units as derived from Sentinel-5P/TROPOMI observations. The stratospheric ozone layer protects the biosphere from harmful solar ultraviolet radiation. Ozone in troposphere can pose risks to the health of humans, animals, and vegetation.

Global sulphur dioxide (SO2) concentration as derived from Sentinel-5P/TROPOMI observations. Sulphur dioxide enters the atmosphere through volcanic eruptions and human-related activities. Daily observations are binned onto a regular latitude-longitude grid.

Global sulphur dioxide (SO2) layer height as derived from Sentinel-5P/TROPOMI observations. Sulphur dioxide enters the atmosphere through volcanic eruptions and human-related activities. Daily observations are binned onto a regular latitude-longitude grid. The SO2 layer height is provided in kilometres.


Sentinel-5P TROPOMI L3 Daily Composites - Ultraviolet Index (UVI)

UV Index (UVI) as derived from TROPOMI observations. The UVI describes the intensity of the solar ultraviolet radiation. Values around zero indicate low, values greater than 10 indicate very high UV exposure on the ground.
